First Movie Review: The True Cost – Directed by Andrew Morgan

the-true-cost-film-on-fashion-corruptionNo other film has surprised me as much as the film, The True Cost. I was quite astonished by the mistreatment of people in countries like India, Bangladesh and Cambodia. Consumers of fashion have become so demanding; seamstresses and factory workers have had to multiply their work time and are paid less than the norm. People feel abandoned and used because their working conditions have become worse, which have caused tragedies, sadness and turmoil.

I am so glad that I watched this film. My sister Elizabeth and I attended this fashion film screening and were surprised by what we watched. It made me smile, it made me cry and even made me laugh. I have never witnessed so much pain on the faces of men and women. I was heartbroken but I am glad this film was released. It teaches people to be compassionate of others and to care for the less fortunate. I learned that everyone is important and that we need to become more aware of our environment and surroundings. It is streaming on Netflix and was released in 2015. Check out the film and let us know how you feel about it.
