Clockwork Angel (Book 1 of Infernal Devices series) by Cassandra Clare- Book Review

Tessa Gray believes that she is a normal mundane (human) from New York. When Tessa’s aunt died, her brother Nathaniel asked her to move to London, England with him. Tessa was surprised to not be greeted by her brother Nathaniel but by two sisters that are familiar with Nathaniel. While Tessa thought that she was going to live happily with her brother, the ‘Dark Sisters’ had other plans for her. They forced her to transform into other people without her understanding why. The sisters were preparing her to meet her soon to be husband, The Magister. When she is rescued by a young man named William Herondale, she discovered that there are Shadowhunters as well as Downworlders. She is taken to the London Institute where she meets several interesting people such as Jem and Jessamine. Will the young Tessa find safety in the institute or will she face even more danger?

Clockwork Angel is a wonderful book with fascinating characters and intense scenarios. My all time character has to be Jem (James Carstairs). I find him to be quite interesting. Although he is quite reserved, he is full of wisdom, kindness and is very musically talented. His kindness is genuine No matter how difficult his past has been. Although his past haunts him, he works hard to be the best Shadowhunter, parabatai and friend  . Jem is such a light and he brings so much grace and life to the book. I fall in love with his character and I hope that others will too. This book is so inspirational and can be read by everyone. Check out the Infernal Devices series as well as the rest of the books in the Shadowhunter World.
